When Abuse Turns to Murder: The Dallas Walmart Shooter
What are the warning signs?
The Dallas Walmart Shooting: What Happened
On Wednesday afternoon, November 19, 2025, Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a shooting in the parking lot of the Walmart on Forest Lane in Northeast Dallas.
According to police sources and local reporting:
- A man appeared to track down his romantic partner at the Walmart parking lot.
- He shot his girlfriend and also shot/grazed a second adult woman who was with her or nearby (described as a female bystander/friend).
- Witnesses described him as angry and repeatedly firing at the first woman before moving to a vehicle.
- Both women were taken to the hospital and were reported to be stable and expected to survive.
- The shooter was later found dead in a black Jaguar from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
- Police have not yet released a full motive or background, and the investigation is ongoing.
So what we have is a public, targeted intimate-partner attack that ended in suicide — a pattern that tragically repeats across many U.S. domestic-violence cases.
